While there are great flowchart makers for Windows and other platforms, you can even create flowcharts in Excel or try your hand at creating flowcharts in Microsoft Word, sometimes an online, web-based solution is best. That’s because these don’t need a specific hardware configuration or operating system to work—all you need is a web browser.
Draw.io fits the bill for anyone looking for a completely free flowchart solution. All you need to do to get started is choose your storage space, which gets remembered for later. Options include Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and local storage. If you need collaboration with others, Google Drive is the best choice since draw.io leverages Google Drive’s collaboration features.
Flowchart Designer is a great app for mac to try first. You can choose from basic, equation, rectangle, and flowchart objects. Just pick one and then drag and drop it onto the canvas. Insert duplicate objects by double-clicking a blue arrow and to add a connector, just drag the blue circle to another object. You can pop in text easily for all shapes and include labels for connectors.
