Flowcharts may not be what one thinks of as a good time, but there’s no denying that they’re incredibly useful. In fact, we’ve previously outlined creative ways to use flowcharts to streamline your life and work, in case you need ideas.
There are significant differences between the tools in the newer versions of Excel and the older versions. Make sure that you read the appropriate section below. Most of the editing techniques are the same and are covered in the Editing Excel Flowcharts section at the bottom of the article. Most of the topics described here can also be applied to creating flowcharts in Word or PowerPoint, but in my humble opinion, of all the Office Drawing tools the Excel drawing tools are the most user friendly.
Business spend a lot of time in developing business processes and creating presentations. In an organization, you may be required to design and regularly update network diagrams, organization charts, wireframes or the process-flow diagrams which may also consume much of your time. A flowchart is a pictorial representation depicting the flow of steps in a program, people in an organization,or pages in a presentation.
Need to create flowcharts but don’t want to deal with the finicky positioning of shape objects and arrows? Then Textographo is for you. Textographo is a unique flowchart tool that uses text. All the user needs to do is type out their chart in a specific text syntax that uses hashtags, keywords, and some markup. The oval flowchart is used to represent the start and end of a process. Use the flowchart tool to drag and drop one of these bad boys and you’ve got yourself the beginnings of a flowchart. Use the same symbol again to show that your flowchart is complete.
The diamond symbolizes that a decision needs to be made. If there are only two choices, you can draw arrows directly from the diamond to the next step (example on the left). If there are more than two choices, you can draw them neatly by copying the example on the right.
